🎤 ROCK THE MIC: BATTLE OF THE BANDS – OFFICIAL RULES & GUIDELINES Entry SubmissionTo enter, register on Etix. Submissions are open until all band slots are open. Twelve slots are available and will divided into three different shows. Your submission must include all required fields. Eligible GenresPreferred genres include Americana, Blues, Soul, Funk, Indie, Folk, Pop-Rock, and similar styles. Live Performance RoundThe top five bands with the most fan votes from each night will advance to the live battle round, which will take place on Friday, June 27th at House of Rock in Corpus Christi, TX. Stage Conduct & Time LimitsStage management has final authority over all stage-related activities. Any band that exceeds their time limit or disregards staff directions—especially those related to safety, timing, or conduct—may be disqualified. Determining the WinnerThe winner of the live battle will be determined solely by audience votes at the event. Each ticket holder will receive one vote. At the end of the show, Rock the Mic representatives, alongside an independent observer, will count the votes. The band with the most votes wins the grand prize. Performance Setup & EquipmentBand set times and changeover will be determined by House of Rock. Bands are responsible for setup and tear down within the allotted time. A bass rig and five-piece drum kit will be provided. All other equipment must be supplied by the band. Winner’s PrizeThe winning band will receive: Their song performed on Rock 92/7 An on-air interview with Rock 92/7 $2,000 cash prize A spot on the House of Rock 20 Year Anniversary Party By submitting an entry, you agree on behalf of your band, management, and crew to abide by these rules and the general policies of House of Rock. It will be their chance to impress the panel of judges to make it to the finals Show off your creativity and style. Contestants will be judged by technique, clarity, creativity, originality, and virtuosity and crowd appeal. Winners of this round (not exceeding 3 contestants) will move on to the finals. Influenced by progressive rock and then-burgeoning new wave of British heavy metal scenes, Watchtower has been credited (along with Voivod and Coroner) for helping pioneer the subgenre of “technical thrash metal” (also known as “progressive thrash metal”), which mixed elements of progressive music with thrash/speed metal.
