House of Rock’s History Harvest series will feature photos of Corpus Christi throughout history submitted by photographers, fans, and local concert goers. Photos will be projected throughout the Venue at House of Rock with university representatives on site to collect documents and scan photos that the public would like to have harvested.
The Special Collections and Archives at the Mary and Jeff Bell Library collects materials that document Corpus Christi history including personal photos and family records. House of Rock owner Casey Lain developed the idea to showcase Corpus Christi’s rich music and artistic history with History Harvest in conjunction with Texas A&M University.
This History Harvest’s theme is: Birding– Into the Outdoors
Did you know that Corpus Christi is known as “America’s Birdiest City?” Our city is a haven to year-round “resident” birds and migratory birds alike. Our protected habitats, marshes, coastal prairie lands, and saltwater lagoons are ideal for birdwatchers and nature lovers. This event will showcase photos of local birding legends from the collections at Mary and Jeff Bell Library. The community is encouraged to bring their birding and nature stories (or letters, journals, postcards, photos, etc.) to add to the vibrant history and nature in the Coastal Bend.
